The A-5 was developed in order for the aircraft to carry more ordnance in the form of additional Umrüst-Bausätze, in order to accomplish this the aircraft was lengthened by 15cm at the engine mount changing the center of gravity. This Tamiya 1/48 scale kit depicts the aircraft of Oberstleutnant Walter 'Gulle' Oesau , Kommodore JG2, Beaumont-le-Roger, France, February 1943. Oesau is credited with 118 victories ranging from the Spanish Civil War through his death on 11 May 1944 as Kommodore of JG1 on the Western Front.
