The Dornier Do 17 was the main purpose designed medium bomber of the Luftwaffe at the outbreak of WWII. Known as the 'Der fliegende Bleistift" or the flying pencile due to its long narrow fuselage, the Do17, allready approaching obselecence in 1939 continued to serve with the Luftwaffe and the airforces of her minor allies throughout the war. The model here is the 1/48 offering from Hobbycraft representing an aircraft of Stab. III/KG 3, East Prussia 1939. |
